Indonesia Pavilion in Switzerland many visitors

Sindonews.com -MUBA organized the Exhibition 2013 in Basel, Switzerland, officially opened on Friday (22/2). Indonesia as the Guest Country at the exhibition held from 22 February to 3 March 2013 featuring a variety of products, culture and cuisine, as well as presenting an investment opportunity to the people of Switzerland.

On the first day of the exhibition, Indonesia Pavilion was visited by about 5,000 visitors.

"The enthusiasm of visitors showed that Indonesia's products and culture has a strong appeal. This is an opportunity for us to promote the Nation Branding Indonesia to the people of Europe, "said Director General of the national export Development Gusmardi Bustami in his remarks in Jakarta, Sunday (23/2/2013).

Indonesia Pavilion occupies an exhibition area covering an area of 2,000 square meters and was built with special design with carrying the theme of "Remarkable Indonesia". Indonesia Pavilion featuring furniture, home decorating, crafts, fashion and jewelry.

Gusmardi explained that Switzerland is one of the potential market for Indonesia. "Gross domestic Income (GDP) per capita is the largest of Switzerland to form 15 in the world, namely USD43,3 thousands," he added.

Indonesia-agricultural trade balance showed a deficit of Switzerland trade to Indonesia. Hope the presence in Indonesia Gusmardi exhibition MUBA this time can reduce the deficit for Indonesia, and balance of trade of the two countries.

As a side note, Indonesia trade deficit against Switzerland continued to increase in recent years. By 2011, the value of Indonesia's exports to Switzerland only USD123,6 million, whereas imports from Switzerland USD623,9 or USD500,2 million deficit occurred.

Indonesia trade deficit of Switzerland respectively from 2008 until 2010 was USD141,1 million, USD259,1 million and USD293,7 million.
